Floral Inspo at the Amon Carter
I'm obsessed with this painting by Severin Roesen hanging at the Amon Carter in Fort Worth. The flowers look real and effortless. I'm a sucker for a good flower pattern hanging on a wall - if I had it my way our two story living room would be papered with Ellie Cashman Design wallpaper.
My cosmetic and product photography work is currently shot on white - it’s gorgeous product arranged in fun layouts and shot with hard shadows. I’d show you but it’s a secret - even if there wasn’t an NDA, I’m drawn to color and bold prints. Maybe that’s why I haven’t stopped thinking about this painting since we visited the Carter two weeks ago.
During my visit to the library on Tuesday a “How-To” book on paper flowers was arranged on a crafting display at the Lewisville Library. Why hello there prettiness. I grabbed it - and this weekend will be crafting paper flowers and dreaming of this painting - and that wall paper, and making a dress out of the floral fabric I have upstairs in my office.
